Blossom Time in Niagara West
Typically between mid-April and late-May, there are many factors affecting blossom time. The pictures below were taken in 2002 (a vey warm spring) and the dates shown should be considered 'early'(about 2 weeks ahead of average). Unusually mild weather can bring blossoms early. Windy or rainy weather will shorten the period in which the trees are in full bloom. Various types of trees will bloom at different times. This is a truly colourful time of year and a great time for leisurely drives past our many fruit orchards. Blossoming trees in this area include: Peach, cherry, apple, pear, magnolia, forsythia, dogwood, crabapple and others.
